Hello All!
My name is Menke Allen Gray, although I have been given and go by many variations and rhymes of this name. I grew up in Greenwood, SC and am a recent college graduate from Florida Southern College. Since junior high I have participated in many mission trips and volunteer programs. I am always getting into anything and everything I can. So, needless to say, the Peace Corps has always been a dream of mine and now it is coming true.
I left for Peace Corps Staging January 27, 2011 in Miami, FL. There, along with 43 other people I went from being a Peace Corps Invitee to being a Peace Corps Trainee. The next day, January 28th, we all left the states and headed to St Lucia, where we are starting our training. February 5th the 44 of us will be broken up into our perspective islands to have 6 more weeks of training then start our 2 years of service. I have been placed on Dominica and there will be 9 others joining me on the island. April 7th will officially start my service.
